Pre-care
Before your neuromodulator appointment
Plan ahead: neuromodulators take about two weeks to take full effect, so book at least two weeks before a special event or trip.
- Plan your timing. Book appointments about 12 weeks apart. If a touch-up is needed, it can be done 14 days after your injection.
- No active infections. If you are taking antibiotics, you must have finished them at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
- Avoid blood thinners for 72 hours before. This includes Advil and other blood-thinning medications. Tylenol is OK.
- No alcohol, smoking or nicotine for 24 hours before your appointment.
- No vaccines of any kind within 4 weeks of your injections.
- Tell us about any changes to your health, medications or recent treatments.
